I’m planning my wedding reception and I’m comfused! I need any ideas about what to give for wedding favors and decorating the reception. It’s not going to be a big wedding only close friends and family. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
something as simple as candles for centerpieces are inexpensive and very pretty. For favors, remember that if it is something the guests dont really use, they will probably be a waste of your money. I would go to Walmart, get netting (for $1.00 per yard) buy some butter mints (a box has a ton, for about $2.50 per box) and pretty ribbon (.88 cents per spool) cut your netting in squares, put a few mints in the center, and tie the ribbon around it. Put them on the place settings at the table for the reception, believe me, your guests will appreciate mints to freshen their breath after dinner, and they will look nice on the tables. Hope this helps.

Hey! It all depends on what your budget is. We had a small budget too but we made our own favors. We did candles in a votive and Mix Cds. The cds were a big hit. You could also make your own bookmarks.

Your reception should reflect you and your future husband… so it can be decorated exactly how YOU want it! Make it look pretty according to you, not everyone else. My husband and I are beach people, so even though we didn’t get married at the beach, our wedding had a beach theme. We decorated in sunny, tropical colors, and our favors were little glass bottles with sand and shells in them, with a tag that said our name and anniversary date on them.
*Don’t stress too much about the favors, though. To be honest, unless it’s food (like candy) LOTS of people will not take them home. We spent a lot of time on ours, and loved them, but we got stuck with over 100 extras because people didn’t take them home!

Pictures of the two of you are always nice gifts, no need to be in a frame, print them with a border that says the date and has your colors. Cheap center pieces that double as a gift to those who help you out during the day (cake cutters, greeters, etc..): potted flowering plants with a bow in your wedding colors.

As with everything, of course it depends on what you want, what your budget is, what your colours are, if you have a theme. Best thing to do is surf websites, check in stores, and see if something strikes you. If it’s something you like, go for it.

Wedding favors can be cheesy and unappreiciated. I had little games at my tables. Like the little ones that you’d put in kids birthday gift bags. Put up displays of pictures of the two of you throughout the years. You could also show your family support and put up pictures of your parents wedding, grandparents wedding etc.. put them on poster board but make it so you are able to remove the pictures from them. Decorate around them with nice fake flowers, or whatever you think of. I have tons of wedding ideas, so aske me if you have more questions!

my sister made several candle centerpieces for each tabel and made them the favors. That also helped her get rid of everything (who needs 100 centerpieces, lol)
My fiance and I are doing personalized shot glasses (discountmugs.com) they are actually pretty cheap ($100 for about 200)
our centerpieces are clear fish bowls, with a yellow ribbon tied around the top, with blue stones in the bottom (wedding is blue & yellow), filled with water and a white floating candle on top.
Its all in your budget and creativity
